Are you happy to travel?
I shoot weddings all over the UK. I’m based in the centre of the country, so travelling is never a problem as I can get pretty much everywhere quickly.
I’m not too keen on having my photograph taken, how do you deal with this?
Lots of people aren’t keen on being in front of the camera. However the way I work means that you will be unaware that I’m taking your picture as I don’t control, direct or prompt you. So many of my clients tell me that they forgot I was there and just had a fantastic day.
Are you a full time Wedding Photographer?
I am and have been for nearly 10 years now, it‘s my sole source of income.
Does it matter if you’ve not photographed at my venue previously?
Even though I’ve shot weddings at probably more than 250 venues I still regularly work at places I’ve not been to before. It makes no difference as the most important thing for me at a wedding is my clients and guests. It also means that I am seeing things with fresh eyes which excites me. I always arrive early at venues however, so I’m well prepared.
Will you photograph my Winter Wedding?
Absolutely, I love winter weddings and although they offer a different challenge they are intimate and I thrive on the challenge. Professional Photographer Magazine listed me in the 10 UK Winter Wedding Photographers recently.
Are you ok with my guests taking photographs at my wedding?
Of course it’s not a problem. All I ask is that guests respect the fact that I am the professional photographer at your wedding and they don’t purposely stand in front of me, for example when you’re walking down the aisle.
Is it important to meet you before the wedding?
I don’t meet most of my clients, as they are generally very busy people and I don‘t impose myself on your day, so It‘s not vital to meet me. However I am based in the centre of the UK and live two mins from from Junct 18 of the M6, so you are more than welcome to visit my office, meet me and have a coffee. This can be either before booking or after booking and before your wedding. Evening appointments are available too.
Do you do engagement, pre wedding shoots?
Many photographers will offer a pre wedding shoot in their packages, often with the idea of selling you lots of products before your day. They will tell you that it helps you get used to being photographed. Unfortunately this shoot will be staged and contrived so it will give you no idea what it’s like being photographed by a pure documentary photographer on your actual wedding day, a photographer who doesn’t control you. So it’s counter productive.
However if you’d like me to photograph you both in a natural setting, documenting your life together for a day or half a day before your wedding then I’d be happy to do this.
Prices for this start at £395 for 4hrs, including High-resolution printable images.
Will you photograph my wedding abroad?
Yes, and the pricing is based on individual circumstances and requirements. I’ve photographed a number of times abroad including Spain, Ireland and France.
Can you photograph some groups and couple shots?
Absolutely, and I do at most weddings. I can complete the group shots very quickly so you can spend your time with friends and family. I’ml also be happy to photograph you both and produce some lovely portraits. Even though I choose not to show any of these type of photographs on my website they are still important.
Are you Insured and what if you are ill?
I am fully insured. I have photographed over 350 weddings and have never missed one yet. I am a fit guy and look after myself. However if the worst happens I am a member of an elite group of Pure documentary wedding photographers, we operate a shared diary, so if I was unable to attend then another photographer would step in.
How do we receive our album?
All my albums are couriered to my clients, extremely well packaged and delivered by a reputable courier company, this is included in the price.
So before and after our wedding, what is the process?
Each wedding for me is around 50hrs work, people don’t realise this, often thinking wedding photographers work one day a week. Prior to the wedding there is the consultation with you either over the phone or in person if you’d prefer. Then my own planning and preparation for your wedding, travelling, photographing your wedding and of course travelling home. Then in the office I download your images and complete an initial edit. I then archive those images and they will be stored at two premises for maximum safety. Then with fresh eyes I will edit again and then I will individually process your images, correcting the colour, density, contrast etc, this part alone takes around 10-12hrs. After processing your images I will order the images into the correct timeline, resize the images and then create a slideshow with the resized images. I will then communicate with you with full instructions and you can view your images. The next part of the process will be to design your album, send off the design to Australia, then the pictures must be assembled into your album and quality controlled. I will then courier your album to you.
I expect to get your High-resolution printable images to you on a memory stick within three weeks of your day, and your album will be delivered around 6-8 weeks after your wedding, this is very quick.
How do we proceed to book you to photograph our wedding?
To secure your date please first use the contact page to make initial contact with me. I need a £500 retainer to secure your date, once received I will turn away all other enquiries for your date and you know it‘s yours and confirmed.
