I’ve photographed in the Emerald Isle a couple of times before this wedding and have had the most amazing time at both weddings. Being a quarter Irish myself I admit to being slightly embarrassed that I’ve not visited there apart from shooting weddings. I arrived in Ireland on the Friday morning and decided to take in some of the beautiful countryside, including a visit to the setting of the Battle of the Boyne, I also spent some time in Dublin and experienced the wonderful hospitality of the Irish, I for one can’t wait to go back to see even more of this beautiful country.
Wen Wen and Barry couldn’t have been from more different cultures, Wen Wen originally from Taiwan and Barry from a small village in Ireland. They met whilst working in Leeds, fell in love and decided that their wedding should be where Barry originates from, a great choice in my opinion, as I doubt they’d have flown me to Taiwan! But I was delighted to be flown out to Ireland. As another spring wedding the weather wasn’t warm, it was breezy and threatened rain all day. However for the ceremony the rain kept away and Wen Wen and Barry married in a quaint church near Navan in County Meath, the held their celebrations in the magnificent Cabra Castle. I loved every minute of this wedding, despite tough conditions which my experience overcame it paled into insignificance because everyone was so friendly and accommodating. I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures I captured from the day.
Wen Wen and Barry wrote these words to me:
“Dear David, the photos truly captured the spirit of the day and the online slideshow has been enjoyed by many of our guests with very complimentary feedback on your photographic style and ability to capture natural and delicate moments perfectly. We are very grateful for having you there on the day and the results of your work. We also have been through the slideshow you sent (many times!) We are so very happy and impressed with them, your photos captured the emotion of people from our wedding. Thank you for keeping those moments for us, we will treasure them forever.”
