Sophia and Charles decided to hold their whole wedding day at the simply magnificent Pensurst Place in Kent, it was an obvious decision as Sophia’s parents actually live at and own Pensurst, so where else would they marry! I photographed the wedding’s of both of Sophia’s bridesmaids, the wonderful Liz and Alex, and what a great job they did on the day putting Sophia at ease and being more than helpful and kind to me.
Even though after studying the weather forecast and seeing that there was a storm due to come to Kent from France around 3pm the weather remained glorious until all the guests sat down for the speeches, such a relief as Pensurst has magnificent gardens that cries out to be used and enjoyed by the guests.
Sophia’s father Lord De L’Isle presented a wonderful speech and spoke so affectionately about his amazing daughter and the speeches that followed were a mix of poignant stories and hysterical anecdotes. The evening then started and then a the guests stood back to enjoy Sophia’s and Charles’s first dance.
This was a fantastic wedding, with two people so in love and perfect for each other, it was my absolute privilege to document Sophia and Charles’s day, and I know I will be back at Pensurst soon.
I received these wonderful words from Sophia:
“David, thank you so much for our wonderful photographs, we had an enchanted evening the other night wine in hand watching them. All photos are just wonderful and we shall treasure each and every one of them, thank you again so much, we are so delighted you were our wedding photographer.”
