September was a crazy month for me in so many ways. The second Saturday saw me travel to North Lincolnshire and to the superb Forest Pines Hotel and Golf Resort. After hundreds of weddings over a 10 year career I was to photograph my first ever same sex wedding. Both my clients were called Daniel, one luckily called himself Danny, the other Dan! Both worked for the Police in Lincolshire, in fact Dan was actually a Police Officer.
It was a day of contrast for me, I had a car accident on the way home and also whilst working I smashed a very expensive lens, but boy on the other hand I wouldn’t have missed this wedding for the world. I simply could not have met two more wonderful guys, kind, caring and full of fun doesn’t even come close to do either of them justice. But most of all they were both very much in love and living the dream that life can sometimes be.
Even though the lighting threw up major challenges from the first moment of the shoot I loved working at Forest Pines, they were well organised and the staff were some of the loveliest I have ever worked with, I would love to go back sometime soon!
Thank you Dan and Danny, I was honoured to photograph your special day and I hope you enjoy the pictures I created for them.
I received these words from Dan:
“Wow wow wow! David we are speechless! We were expecting quality pictures, however these have just exceeded all expectations!!! We sat in the dark and watched the slide show and both laughed and cried our way through. Your pictures have really captured every emotion of the day which I don’t think you get from other photographers. We so definitely made the right choice booking you, they couldn’t have been anymore perfect! I am dying to look through them again but I have to go to bed soon which is killing me ha! I cant wait to show our parents! As soon as we watched them I rang my mum to say how amazing they are. Thank you!”
