It had been a few years since I’d shot a wedding at the Palm House in Sefton Park, Liverpool. When Katie and Peter told me they were to have their reception there I was really excited to go back to what was the scene of one of my first weddings 11 years ago. The Palm house looked even better this time around in the autumn sun. It is an octagonal, 3 tiered, Grade II listed Victorian glasshouse displaying plants from around the world, yet when transformed it makes an incredible venue to hold your wedding celebrations. Full of natural light, space and intermixed with rare and precious plants from around the world, the word unique certainly springs to mind.
Katie and Peter married in their local Catholic church in north Liverpool then a large bus took all their guests to Sefton Park in the south of the city.
A fantastic time was had by all, the band were amazing and the speeches really emotional, the dancing was terrific too. I had a great time and I hope you enjoy the pictures I produced por Katie and Peter.
I received these wonderful words form Katie and Peter.
“Amazing. Not sure what else to say….
There must have been more than one David, you must have been everywhere! You shot things we don’t even remember happening. Brilliant shots of us, the kids, venue and band. Its such a shame that we only do it once as we’d gladly get married every week and let you capture it over and over again. Thank you David, just blown away!”
